Equipment for water and drinking water treatment
Equipment for water and drinking water treatment
The water treatment for the purpose of using it in industrial processes is not possible without modern, reliable equipment, which are selected depending on the water properties.
Depending on the contaminants found in the water and the treated water application, one or several types of equipment are used, such as:
Mechanical Filters - Domestic use
The mechanical filtration is adequate if the water is contaminated only with suspended solids. This way the impurity which may occur on the water network from source to the consumer are eliminated; these (scale, rust, sand, suspended solids) can cause sediments, corosion, abrasion, or deteriorate the gates, pumps, reducers, etc.
The models may differ depending on the diameter of the connections, necessary flow, operation pressure, degree of filtration, and manufacturing materials.
The filters can be integrated in advanced treatment plants, with water softener, sterilizer, and reverse osmosis, depending on the pollution rate and the reccomendations of the experts which made the dimensioning of the treatment equipment.
Mechanical Filters - Industrial use
The filters are frequently used for commercial, comunal or industrial applications, representing most of the time the mechanical filtering stage for an advanced treatment plant.
Depending on utilization and handled fuid, the filters are available in different versions: with self-cleaning and stainless steel drum, centrifugal with bags or filter cartridges, stainless steel AISI 316L body or composit materials body.
Flows: 600 - 1,000,000 l/h
Utilization: comunal, commercial and industrial.
Water softeners - Domestic use
If the mechanical filtering is insufficient, the soap can't produce lather, the water leaves marks after evaporation and has taste, odour or is coloured, this means that the calcium and magnesium ions are present in the water, also chlorine, organic substances, iron, sulphuretted hydrogen, etc.
The water treatment it's performed by filtering the water in defferent lays of ionic exchange resins or other filtering materials, depending on the final composition and utilization of the water.
The equipment are available in different versions: simplex, duplex.
Water softeners - Industrial use
The water softeners used in comunal, commercial and industrial applications must fulfil the following requirements simultaneously:
- continuous operation
- high flow demands
- solid construction
- integration in advanced treatment plants, etc.
In these cases the duplex models are used, because they allow the water softening through a single tank, even if the other tank is in regeneration.
Flows: 600 - 100,000 l/h
Utilization: commercial, comunal and industrial.
Multimedia Filters
The multimedia filters (with different filtering media) are adapted to specific applications, for removing:
- iron and manganese ions
- taste, smell, colour, turbidity
- neutralizing the acid waters.
Depending on the water final composition and utilization, different filtering media might be used.
Thanks to our foreign partners experience we can also provide the following customized filters for:
• eliminate the radon from the water
• aeration for eliminating the iron and manganese ions.
Reverse Osmosis
Reverse osmosis is the most performant technology in water treatment. The water pressure is used to reverse a natural process called osmosis. The pressurised water is forced to pass through a semi-permeable membrane which filters the minerals and impurity.
The reverse osmosis eliminates from the water chemical compounds which are dangerous for the health, containing: arsenium, barium, cadmium, chrome (Cr3+/Cr6+), copper, plumbum, nitrates, nitrites, radium, selenium, ammonium, acid carbonates, bromides, free chlorine, chlorides, magnesium, sodium, sulphates, tannin, zinc, aluminium, and silt charge, bad taste and smell, microorganisms.
This system supplies still water, having a good taste, ideal for cooking and drinking. The food will be easier to prepare and will taste better. Having still water at the tap it is no longer necessary to buy bottled still water.
The same operation principle is used also for industrial equipment which generate ultrapure process water for cosmetic, farmaceutical, beverage industries, etc.
Flows: 100 - 100,000 l/h
Utilization: domestic, commercial and industrial.
U.V. Sterilizing
Microbiological sterilization of the drinkable water is based on the capacity of the ultraviolet rays to destroy the genetic code of bacteria, viruses, fungus, and mouldiness. The water treated this way doesn't have any chemical mutation, of taste or smell.
Flows: 300 - 160,000 l/h
Utilization: domestic, commercial and industrial.
